We are delighted to officially unveil our unique facility the Crash Pad which was formally opened on the 22 February 2020 by The Right Worshipful Lord Mayor Councillor Doreen Lee & Paul Thompson Trustee Bradford Cinderella Club.

The event took place amongst a number of invited guests who were also given a guided tour of the building.

In recognition of the many years’ service given to this charity the ground floor office space now being used by Bradford Cinderella Club is named as the ‘Thompson Suite’.  Paul Thompson who is active today as a Trustee was also our Secretary for over forty years, naming the office accommodation space seems such a small thing to do for someone who has done so much for Bradford Cinderella Club.

Paul – Thank you.

There was a great deal of thought put into the layout of the building generally, and spaces which would be used by those this development was aimed at.  We hope we have provided a balance between practical space that was needed and support and caring secure spaces for when underprivileged youngsters are in residence.

The main area was always designed to be completely open plan ensuing maximum contact and support time for those youngsters stopping over at the Crash Pad, whether just chilling and watching a movie, dining or helping in the kitchen, this is an adaptable space that can be used with any age group.

The dining area is completed with the most fantastic light fitting which was provided by Meta Electric, the electrical contractor. They were also responsible for negotiating a further donation from YESS Electrical of the LED perimeter ceiling lighting which will surely provide hours of fun strobing flashing and dimming colour and light changes to our young guests. Thank you Malc for you efforts on our behalf, two fantastic finishing touches to this area.

There are two bedooms for use with spaciaous spoil-yourself double beds for the children to enjoy

There are two bedrooms for use with spacious spoil-yourself double beds for the children to enjoy their freedom and warmth.  Each bedroom has a small desk in case any homework is due, as well as a TV for each youngster.  The TV power switch is remote and can be turned off by staff!

This building is as much about the people that have contributed to the charity to give it its current ethos and general warmth and wellbeing.  In each bedroom there is a small message for the children from two stalwarts of Bradford Cinderella Club, Florence and Ernest Saville parents of our current President James Saville, who both gave tirelessly many years of commitment to Bradford Cinderella Club.  We honour their memory and link them to the continued work this charity will do more so log as it is needed.
